In the construction of buildings, civil engineers carry out calculations in design and create drawings based on their knowledge of materials and loading. They can either do this or ensure that on site the team complete the construction to the client required standards. So an architect will come up with a design and the engineer can say whether it will stand up or not. Also they can be on site to make sure the construction team know what goes where and if any changes are made can instruct in the best way possible.

      Hi, thanks for your question.

Civil engineers are the back bone of construction. we design the building to make sure that it can actually stay up and we supervise all construction on site to ensure it is built the way we designed it. we need to think fast too when there are problems out on site.

      claire 🙂
