Feels like….. well, being usefull to society ?
I could sell stuff in a shop – nothing wrong with that- just doesn’t help the wider World. An engineer can turn something ( say a lump of scrap metal ) into something usefull, ( like a shovel, which can be used to plant say, Spuds – which eventually make chips Yummmmm ) or, maybe, a piece of art for the garden.
At the Central Laser Facility, Our engineers have helped solve several really difficult problems for people in industry, so I feel I have contributed toward making life better for a lot of other people

Makes me feel proud, that I have and am achieving the goals I set for myself whilst helping the lives of others. For instance, I like projects that have great impact like building a railway station or designing/inspecting bridges etc because I know they will be used by the whole country. Being part of a team is a great feeling too and feeling worth something around others.

Rewarding! It makes me feel proud of both the work I do and the place I work. I know that the work I am doing helps society as a whole and that’s a pretty damn good feeling!

It is very rewarding and it makes me feel proud that i have used my knowledge and skills to give something back to the communities. as well as the work i do with local school kids, they love going on site visits and that makes me happy to see that they are positive about engineering.

      thanks

      claire 🙂
