      Hi n3rdleeroy,
Being an engineer can be fun, though like any job really, there are days when it all goes a bit wobbly…. I find the most fun parts can be testing something to make sure it works, specially if there’s an element of the unknown.
Work experience students are also great fun, really inquisitive, asking loads of questions,

I think it is extremely fun. I get to spend the day with a lot of different people who are always trying to make each other laugh. Typically, we get to boss people around, eat chocolate and drink coffee.. with some hard work in-between of course. My days tend to go very quick because you are never doing the same thing everyday.

Absolutely! For me it is incredibly rewarding to take projects and sub-projects through right from identifying a problem to solve, figuring out how to solve it, designing your solution, either having it made or making it yourself and then implementing it. It’s even better if you see it still in use years later!
There are also a tonne of opportunities that I have been able to take that I wouldn’t have otherwise got! For instance, I am flying out to CERN tomorrow morning!
