      reedd002,
I’d like to think I have done so already !
here are a few things my employer has done that benefit society.
a new way to detect liquid explosives at airports,
a novel way to recycle bread tins for a huge bread manufaturer,
      developed World leading Technology,
Found a new way to “see inside” someone to find out if they have cancer, without x-rays,
investigating new fuels for the future – fusion –
      and above all, EDUCATION
that has to be the single best thing out there. From you Teacher to me typing this, there are many forms of education, all of which greatly help those willing to learn
Any new product = sales = more people in work, = better living standards, so yeah, EDUCATION is key.

I would like to continue giving back to the country by carrying on my outreach work and encouraging young people into STEM subjects, particularly via apprenticeships which I think are completely brilliant. I would like to become an apprentice supervisor in the near future and help more people through their apprenticeship while hopefully giving them some great experience. I am also always open to taking on work experience students that have a real enthusiasm to learn more.

I would like to think I do this on a daily basis by working on infrastructure and imroving the countries transport. I used to take part in St Johns Ambulance, this was another way I would like to give back to the community. I also decorated Birmingham Childrens hospital for halloween and raised money for charity, there are plenty of opportunities like this in the engineering sector.

The other things I have and would like to continue doing are holding presentation on the Duke of Edinburgh, Apprenticeships, Professional Accreditation and STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Maths). Anything to do with supporting fresh minds into engineering as its a brilliant career path and we need new ideas continually to improve the methods of working.

hopefully i have given something back by working on high profile jobs like 3 new bridges in Glasgow, remediation of loads of structures across the city, because otherwise they would just fall down if we didnt go back and fix the problems.
