      I provide mechanical engineering advice and support to people. Also, having been through the apprenticeship I am able to make things using machines. I tend to be good for a creative solution or two to a problem 🙂

      wow,
      I’m mostly asked about tricky electronic issues, eg “make this please” or “fix that”, or, “can I do this” that’s my niche.
      I help people by giving advice, support and guidance. I have even made something for one of our customers by mail order. they were 100 miles away, so all digital communications + parcels !

      mostly its structural engineering questions, regarding loadings and foundations. another thing i get involved in is looking at our external designers designs to assess if they have over designed something, ie made it too big for what is needed and therefore wasting money.

      The other engineers turn to me for all sorts of advice as I do for them. I usually sit down and have a chat about the problem they are facing and come to a solution together because two minds are greater than one. I usually advise others on the loading side of engineering as other have more practical experience where I am at the moment.

      I help with any electrical/mechanical/electronics related problems. I also really like maths and occasionally help my fellow apprentices with task and teach them hard topics.
