      hi abbein,
I am happy, every day I am able to do something like this is great.
some days do go a bit lumpy from time to time, like anywhere else.
I’d like more cash, though I guess your teacher would as well – who wouldn’t 🙂 Private industry would pay that, public sector is more stable, though no paid as well. swings + roundabout as they say

Not at all, sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be doing something different but it beats the other day to day options of careers. I get a lot of satisfaction from completing a project and working with the teams I have.

very happy, i love seeing projects through to the end and what used to be a big empty space or some shabby run down buildings are now home to a new bridge or a new business district, giving something positive back to the community.

      thanks

      Hi Abbie,

Oh yes! I am so pleased with my decision to make engineering my career. It is secure, pays me what I need, gives me great benefits and opportunities and allows me to have a good work life balance. My work is varied and at this stage of my career I am able to steer it pretty much in whatever direction I would like. Starting my career with STFC will also give me great prospects should I ever decide to move jobs
